Participating in events

There are several events at DESIGNTIDE TOKYO. Which section can I participate in?

You can participate in TIDE EXHIBITION, TIDE MARKET or TIDE EXTENSION. Please see here for details on each of these sections. Please also download the entry sheets here.

What other events can I participate in other than TIDE EXHIBITION, TIDE MARKET, and TIDE EXTENSION?

Join our parties, workshops, events, or participate as volunteer staff. If you have ideas on other ways to participate, mail us at info@designtide.jp.

How should I choose between TIDE EXHIBITION and TIDE MARKET?

TIDE EXHIBITION is mainly a place to organize exhibitions and installations of works and products (using the entire space to showcase works). TIDE MARKET is a place to sell them.
Both are great for PR and business, but we suggest joining Exhibition if you want to advertise your works through installations, and Market if you want to sell products or take orders for them without the need for installations.

Entering and screening

What are the criteria for the screening process?

Entries will be screened by the director of DESIGNTIDE TOKYO based on criteria such as quality and the concept behind the work.

When and how will the results of the screening be announced?

Mid-August. e-mail will be sent announcing one of two results: “accepted” or “rejected”.

I can’t download the entry sheet.

Send us an e-mail at exhibitor@designtide.jp. If you can’t download the entry sheet, we will send you a copy by fax or regular mail.

Works

What kinds of work will there be?

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO features mainly interior and product design, but we are also looking for other work in categories such as fashion, jewelry, graphics, video, art and interactive design.

Exhibition venue

What is the main exhibition venue like?

The main venue is a facility located inside Tokyo Midtown called Tokyo Midtown Hall. It is directly connected to Roppongi station on both the Tokyo Metro Hibiya line and the Toei Subway Oedo line. Located just 2 minutes from the ticket gate of the Oedo line Roppongi station, the venue enjoys extraordinary ease of access.

Tokyo Midtown is a virtual city in itself that contains some of the most cutting-edge cultural institutions in Tokyo, including the Suntory Art Museum, 21_21 Design Sight and the Tokyo Midtown Design Hub.

More about the Tokyo Midtown Hall here.
See here for how to get there
