The report of last year's event (Oct 31st-Nov 4th, 2007 at the National Studium) is available now. The number of participating designer last year was about 200 groups, and the visitors for 5 days was about 30,000 poeple from over the world. DesignTide is now sending out the last call this year to gather those design / events enthusiasts out there to give finishing touch to this autumn's biggest design event! We need your support to pull this off! Come and join us at DesignTide. Requirments: no experience needed, no age restriction, must have passion for design, events and communication. National stadium is a historical landmark that was built for Tokyo Olympic held in 1964. This is where we invited great designers from all over the world to compete in a hot design event! Main venue: National Stadium Date: 2007/10/31 (Wed) - 11/4 (Sun) At the main venue, we will hold different events everyday as well as designers' exhibitions. At the core of the site, we have 'Tide Exhibition' - powered by designers from inside and outside of Japan. We also have 'Tide Think' - the exhibition that was put together around the theme of 'PLAY'. You can buy things directly from the designers' themselves at our musium shop 'Tide 'super' Market', and take part in workshops and events. We also have 40 - 50 shops and galleries in Shibuya, Aoyama, Harajuku and Roppongi taking part as 'Tide Extension'. Designers will have the opportunity to fully express their unique world. These are just a brief introduction of our event! We will keep you up-to-date via website and mail magazine. We are now announcing some of the exhibitors.

The participant entry was closed for 'Tide Exhibition' and 'Tide Market' in the main venue of the event. Thank you for the application a lot !Only 'Tide Extension' postponed the entry finality deadline on Monday, July 30.

DesignTide News 2007

Includes general information about DesignTide, and specific information related to the 2007 events, this newspaper has been made to express the theme of this year’s DesignTide, 'PLAY.' Each copy has an attached game which was created by designers. These are fun games that involve cutting, folding, and drawing. There are 3 kinds of games; 'WELCOME! POODLE HOUSE' by Midori Araki, 'Make a Safari!' by Donny Grafiks, 'PLAY→プレイ('PLAY' in Japanese)' by Dainippon Type Organization.

'DesignTide News 2007' will be available at;
Souvenir from Tokyo by CIBONE(The National Art Center, Tokyo), Mori Art Museum, CIBONE AOYAMA, TIME & STYLE, SEMPRE, WISE・WISE, ZERO FIRST DESIGN, Spiral, TSUTAYA TOKYO ROPPONGI, and more places in Tokyo. Also in Shanghai, Milan and London.
