This is the feature attraction of the main site, where designers, manufacturers, press, and buyers will gather from all over the world to create a fertile ground for new opportunities and collaborations.
Up and coming designers and manufacturers in the fields of product design, interior design, and art from different countries will produce their own exhibit spaces. You can choose from either an installation space or a trade space. In the installation spaces, you can mainly show prototypes or concept models of new products. In the trade space, you can show products which are already being manufactured. Tide Exhibition also acts as a great place to do market research because you can interact directly with visitors. The effectiveness of this type of exhibition space proved to be invaluable to several of the designers who participated in last yearユs DesignTide. These designers secured contracts to get their prototypes into production by manufacturers because of the positive response they received from visitors at DesignTide 2006. Additionally, designers and manufactures participating in Tide Exhibition always get a good response from PR (both domestic and overseas) because it is at the center of the DesignTide event. 53 designers from 11 countries participated last year, and we will make this year even better, with a Tide Exhibition overflowing with energy.

Designers will set up shops at a Market. Here, you can communicate with visitors directly and you can get a direct response from them. This direct interaction with visitors makes Tide Market a very effective way of doing marketing research. Of course, many buyers and manufacturers visit the market. There have been numerous up and coming designers who have landed successful business contracts both in Japan and abroad by participating in the Tide Market. 30 groups participated last year. As the main site's museum shop, Tide Market will open its doors once more as an even more captivating and inspiring space than last year.

Works will be displayed in shops, galleries, and cafes in the Aoyama, Harajuku, Shibuya, and Roppongi areas. If you are a shop, you can find designers that you would like to work with, and make an exhibition at your premises. If you are a designer, you can find a shop you want to exhibit at and ask the shop if they are interested in displaying your work. Compared to Tide Exhibition, the advantage is that there is more freedom to produce your own space. Of course, we promote Tide Extension as much as the main site, through official booklets and websites. Exhibiting at both the main site and at an extension location is a fantastic way of bringing people to the shop where you are exhibiting. Around 30 places participated last year including Omotesando Hills Multipurpose Space[o:], LV Hall Louis Vuitton, and Spiral.
