Minimal Tokyo produces the highest quality electronic events in Tokyo. During this year's DesignTide, on the night of November 2nd (Fri), they will hold an event at UNIT featuring works of designers from DesignTide such as !Alexander Gelman, assistant, and Shantell Martin. Guests include Trimsound Live produced by Tom Ellis and Leif from UK (Trimsound/Mindtours /Floppy Funk/MoonHarbor). Look forward to their first ever live DJ performance in Japan!

As the weather becomes more bearable in autumn interior industry's diary becomes full of launch parties and exhibitions. We visited AIDEC and Cassina IXC yesterday. They introduced the range from this year's Milan Salone and drew a big audience here in Aoyama. At AIDEC, they featured more German designers such as Studio Vertijet in their theme colour, orange. Visitors loved the sofa called LAVA and seemed unable to resist trying on its inviting-looking chaise.Cassina IXC was also very popular. They introduced their new range including Catherine Memm under the theme of 'modern'. The central of attension was the screen - looked like an adaptation of Japanese traditional screen 'Byohbu'.

GELMAN LOUNGE - Alexander Gelman and Minimal Tokyo host a night of intensive visuals and live electronic music, including special screening of films and more by Nanzuka Underground and Shift. Some of top internationally recognized electronic music artists such as AOKI TAKAMASA (op.disc) from Paris, and MAGNUM 38 (Shitkatapult) from Berlin will do live acts at GELMAN LOUNGE. This is a unique chance to catch their acts!

DesignTide is happy to announce its third series of annual events and exhibitions to be held this year from October 31 to November 4.
DesignTide will have a kick-off event on March 15th @ Super Deluxe, to celebrate the launch of DesignTide in Tokyo 2007 and the release of a brand-new free paper called 'DesignTide News 2007'.

Looking back over last year's DesignTide with photos, each person will speak about their experiences and the highlights of last year’s DesignTide. We will also talk about how we came up with this year’s theme “PLAY”, and what this word means to us, along with the kind of projects we want to create around this theme. We will share ideas and invite you to join this year's DesignTide.
